Movies

I finally had the chance to watch a couple of movies that I've had in-stock for quite some time now. The first two were love stories, "Closer" and "Bridget Jones' Diary: The Edge of Reason". The next two were disturbing and heartbreaking movies, "The Constant Gardener" and "Munich".

I enjoyed watching the first two movies, they were heart-warming, lovable and of course have a happy ending, which I like. Well, except for "Closer", which is more of a "dark" love story, but nonetheless, I still ended up having a happy feeling afterwards.

But, when I watched "The Constant Gardener" and "Munich", a different feeling settled in. More of sadness, depression and a reflection on life. The two movies display the reality of what is going on in our world today. Especially on the movie "The Constant Gardener", which really leaves a heavy feeling afterwards. I couldn't sleep after watching that movie because it just stays with you and haunts you. It shows the other side of Africa. "Other side" meaning, the things you will not see as a tourist on that country. There is this one scene in the movie that will really really break your heart and will make you cry buckets! Wah!!! I cry everytime I remember that scene. In "Munich", it shows that discrimination and war should have no place in this world.

I should've watched the depressing movies first before the happy love stories to change my mood. Lesson learned I guess...

I also recommend that you do not to watch "The Constant Gardener" and "Munich" one after the other and especially if you're feeling depressed. It will only worsen your situation. But if ever you do, watch cartoons or play with your kids/nieces/nephews after watching them.. it will help a little.
