Boracay 2006 (Part 1 of 4)

DAY 1
Woke up early to go to the airport. My dad's gonna bring us to the airport very early because he also has an early tee off time. Being early birds in the airport, there were no lines so our check-in went smoothly. Our flight was delayed for 10 minutes only and Doths won a prize on the on-board Cebu Pacific games.

Arrived in Kalibo and proceeded to hire a van to take us to Caticlan. The recommended van was a slow-poke. He drives so slow that I wanted to take over the wheel so we can go faster. After an hour and a half, we were at the Jetty Port and off to Boracay Island. I was so excited because I get to see the island again.

While boarding the banca, we were approached by this local offering his recommendations to us when we get to Boracay. Like, where our accomodations are, do we want to go island hopping, parasailing, jetskiing, etc. More stories on this local later, for now, we just ignored him because we don't have plans on those items yet.

After 10 minutes, we got to this Port in Boracay that was way off Station 3. I was surprised because the banca usually docks passengers at Station 3. But the locals said that now this is where all the banca docks and we just have to take a tricycle to get to our accomodations. The tricycle costs P100.00!!! Talk about taking advantage of being a tourist spot. Grabe! Good thing 4 of us shared that cost. But still, it is quite expensive, compared to getting off at Station 3 wherein you can have the option of just walking to your hotel or take a tricycle not costing P100.00! Hay...

So reluctantly, we rode that tricycle as we were anxious to get to our hotel already. Remember the local I was talking about earlier, well, he was kind enough to guide us to our hotel since we didn't know where it was located. After the tricycle, we had a little walk to our hotel. Good thing the local(named Albert), who guided us, went with us and lead the way to Bans Resort and carried all our very heavy bags(it was still full of our liquor so it was very heavy). It was a relief because I didn't want to bring my heavy bag either. hehe Anyway, he received a very nice tip from us.

After checking-in, we had our late lunch. The first decent restaurant we came upon was Binalot and we didn't want to go any further because we were so hungry. My friends and I had our first lunch at Binalot.

After eating, we went back to our hotel and changed to our swimwear. We went swimming and took pictures 'till dark. We had our merienda at Jonah's, where they have the best shake in Boracay! It was yummy indeed.

NIGHT 1
We arranged our island hopping event for the following morning with the cousin of Albert. He gave us a very hefty discount so we jumped on that chance immediately. We had our dinner at Mikay's in D'Mall Palengke. The food was muy delicioso as Donish would say.

Afer dinner, we were so full and tired from the trip that some of us decided that we call it a night and just make bawi on the following nights in Bora. Boring huh? But we were all just tired, well, except for Apaul, who wanted to see the night life in Bora on her first night here. But, sad to say, nobody was up for it. We all lacked sleep the previous day and wanted to have a long sleep for the days ahead. In short, nothing happened on our first night in Bora. Apaul also slept her boredom away. Zzzzzzz...
