Getting Married!!!

No way!!! Not me!!!! Mwahahahahaha My brother's the one that's getting married. hehehe They're gonna make their "I Do's" on December 15, 2006 at a church(forgot the name) in Tagaytay. A plus is only a few people can get to attend the wedding there 'coz it's too far. hehehe They chose that place because that's where my Kuya and Shing (his fiancee) always go to relax and get away from the maddening crowd in Manila. The two of them often spend the weekend there in Tagaytay. HHmmmm... I wonder what they do there. hehehe Oh well, that's their choice I guess.

Now that there's a wedding in the family, of course this means that my sister and I are gonna be part of the entourage. Yes, you read that right. I'm gonna wear a #*$&ing gown or dress(whatever it is you call it) come December. Wah!!!! I'm not a fan of dressing up and wearing makeup but this is for my brother and her soon to be wife, so there.

My dad is pretty excited about the wedding because finally he's sure to have a grandchild in the coming year or two. My mom though is a little shocked. My brother's still young pa daw. hehehe You know moms, they don't want their baby to have another life outside hers. I wonder if my mom would still be shocked when one of her daughter's announce marriage at the age of.. nevermind! hehehe

My brother just announced his plans a month ago. In the beginning of the year he didn't even have plans on marriage, that's why my mother was a little suspicious and really shocked to hear that's he's gonna get married by the end of the year. But still, she's happy for them at least one of her kids is finally on the marrying stage.

Now that my brother's gonna leave our home in a year, we're all fighting who gets his room. hehehe My bro's room is not quite big but it's a very cool room. Even when it's summertime, it's still the coolest room in the house. I wanna convert it into a gym room. My sister wants it to be her room. My mom wants to make it an extension of the dining area. I wonder who will get the room the next year. hehehe Abangan!

Planning a trip to Boracay

My friends and I are planning a trip to Boracay in November. We're finalizing everything now while the rates are cheap and affordable. Now, we can't decide which accomodation to choose. We are currently choosing between Bans Beach Resort(a cottage type) in Station 1 or in La Carmela Beach Resort(a hotel type) in Station 2(but I read it is near Station 3 already). I'm torn between the two because I want to stay in a resort in Station 1 but I also want a resort with a pool so we can still go swimming at night(in case it rains also). But if we're near Station 1, we can just go to the different night parties in Station 1. However, if we're in Station 2, we can also go to the parties but with a longer walk, which is a good exercise, but not recommended if you're drunk. hehehe

Anyway, Bans Resort is cheaper than in La Carmela. But La Carmela has more package inclusions(welcome drinks, daily breakfasts, land-boat transfers--additional fee if from Kalibo) than in Bans. But if we compute these inclusions together with the accomodations in Bans, it is still a little cheaper than in La Carmela.

I'd like to know the exact rate of transfer from Kalibo Airport to Caticlan Port and from Caticlan Port to Station 1 or 2 on the days we would go there. I don't know if these rates also change like the different season rates in Bora. (I wish it doesn't change!!)

Here are a couple of reviews on Bans Resort(it contains some pics too): Traveler Reviews on Bans Beach Resort

I couldn't find a review on La Carmela though. Hhhmmm... is this a sign?

Oh yeah, another thing why I'm hesitant about Bans is the way to contact them(long distance, no manila office) and paying our reservations(dunno how this one goes too). As for La Carmela, all these can be done by the travel agency here in manila.

So far, my friends prefer La Carmela. It has the majority vote. I haven't voted yet as I don't know which one to choose!!

What do you think is a much better, affordable and a practical choice? Any other affordable but nice hotels or cottages to recommend in Boracay that we can easily contact?

I am SO open to suggestions.

It will never be the same

I stayed up late last night just to see if Andre Agassi can do another miracle. He didn't, whoops, no, he couldn't. A valiant effort from a noble man. When he was crying after the game, I noticed I was too and that was already around 3 in the morning! Tennis will never be the same without him.

This is like when Jordan retired, I didn't watch any NBA games anymore after that. When Caidic retired, no more PBA games either. Basketball to me, was never the same again. The excitement was gone for me. Now, tennis is too. They're saying that Roddick could be the next Andre?! No freakin' way! He doesn't have the charisma that Andre have. He looks to me more of a McEnroe in the making because of his temper.

We'll miss you Andre! I wish you didn't have to retire. Oh well, I guess we'll just hafta wait for your kids to grow up. 'Till then, I'll just watch poker games on TV na lang. I don't think anybody will retire in playing poker.
