A milestone here... A milestone there...

I've been working for exactly 6 years now. It's been 6 years since college. It's been 10 years since highschool. Wow! I can't believe I'm this young already. hehehe I remember the exact moment when I first showed up for work, excited and nervous at the same time. Although there were no new faces to see because this was where my batchmates and I had our OJT and after graduation, we all decided to accept a job from them. It was a startup company back then with only a few employees and through the years it evolved a lot and I mean a LOT while I was there.

I can't believe that I've survived a lot of company name changes, company closures, employee "unions", relocation, intrigues and disappointments. But after all that, I gained lifelong lessons, knowledge, great experiences and most especially good friends. Do you remember saying right after gradeschool or highschool or even college graduation that this has to be the greatest time of my life. Well, I'll say it again and I know I will say it again and again in the future.. This has to be the greatest time of my life!

Another milestone achieved I guess... Now off to achieving another milestone in my life... HHmmmmm... I wonder what it will be? hehehe Maybe it's gonna be the goal that Don, Nikks and I would start on July 1.

Don't Get TOO Excited

Another lesson learned yesterday... Don't get excited too much on one thing or you'll miss important details. We (Don, Cands and I) bought our Superman Returns tickets yesterday, in our excitement, we didn't get to check the time in our tickets. Here's the thing, after getting the tickets from the counter, I checked the date, the seat number and the movie title, and I (bleeping!) forgot to double-check the time!!! I just saw 12 something and thought that it was ok. Gggrrrrr When I got home, I was just staring at the ticket for some reason of excitement again I guess, and lo and behold the time printed was 12 f*#&@*g PM!!! We were suppose to get the 12AM/12 midnight showing of the movie but instead we got the 12PM/12 noon time. Sheesh! Instead of being excited about the movie coming, frustration and "katangahan" got the best of me. I couldn't sleep at all last night because of this dumb booboo of mine. Sana pwede pa to mapalitan...

Thought Bubble

Something I've been thinking about... In every company when you ask an old employee how he/she views the company, for sure he/she will somehow say at least one bad thing about the company and the longer that employee has stayed in the company, a long list of disappoint stories you will get. But if you ask a new employee on how he/she views the company, he/she will answer with much enthusiasm, excitement and hopes for a long career and a positive outlook for the company. Now I can say I've experienced those two scenarios already.

I guess the only lesson I got from this is, whatever you say to the person that asks you this question is to give the answer of the new employee. Because whatever you say has a bearing and it will stick to the mind of the person who asked the question.

Again, it's easy to say but really hard to actually do it. But I guess I can always try... try to make the person ask specific questions. So in the end I can say, "Hey, you asked."

Discipline+Execution+Humility+Love for GOD and Country = Tugatog ng Tagumpay

I read an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G speech by Mr. Butch Jimenez in Jane's blogsite. If I was there when he made this speech, I would also be having goosebumps and would feel proud to be a Filipino. I truly wish that every Filipino, including me, could have all the characteristics that he pointed out in his speech. The Philippines would be in a different league when that happens. I searched the net to see a pic of Mr. Jimenez but I got more than that. I found his blog! What a surprise! Millionaires are bloggers too! hehehe Here's a link to his blogsite. I think this is really his blogsite and he's such a cool guy!

BTW, the speech he gave to the graduates of 2006 in Silliman University can be found in his blogsite too. Read on guys...
